CalderHill have over twenty years experience in the technical design and inspection of buildings throughout the construction process, alongside extensive knowledge of specification writing. Stuart Hill is also a construction law specialist, having gained a Master of Science (MSc) in Construction Law from Kings College London. His academic research focused on how contractual frameworks can be more effectively used to ensure exemplary construction quality, particularly with innovative architecture. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Society of Construction Law.

Meanwhile, the drawings below show a the use of a wide range of media, alongside explorative ways of communicating ideas and technical solutions – from hand drawn water colours (draughtsman’s washes) to digital modelling. Many of these drawings have won awards, or have been used as exemplars for visual communication. CalderHill believe – in the tradition of architectural and engineering ‘colour-washed’ techniques – that technical drawings need not just be a means to an end, and can have an aesthetic value in their own right.
